October is TURNABOUT’S FAIR PLAY Month!
One month from tomorrow is the official release date for Turnabout’s Fair Play. And you know what that means . . .
It’s contest time!!!
And since this is the last book release I have for quite some time, it’s going to be a big one. So TURNABOUT. It’s time for a FAIR PLAY contest!
THE PRIZES
Grand Prize: Signed copies of each of the three books in the Matchmakers series—Love Remains, The Art of Romance, and Turnabout’s Fair Play—along with a Nashville- and Matchmakers-themed gift basket, and a $50 Amazon.com OR Target gift certificate.
2nd Place: Signed copy of Turnabout’s Fair Play and a $25 Amazon.com OR Target gift certificate.
3rd Place: Signed copy of Turnabout’s Fair Play and a $15 Amazon.com OR Target gift certificate.
4th Place: Signed copy of Turnabout’s Fair Play and a $10 Amazon.com OR Target gift certificate.
- Assuming arrival of my copies of TFP on or before November 1, my goal is to mail prizes no later than November 10, 2011.
HOW DO I ENTER?
Post a comment on at least ten (10) blog posts between today, Friday September 30, 2011, and Friday October 28, 2011. Comments must be relevant to the topic of that day’s post. Only one comment per post will count toward the contest, but each comment over the ten required earns you another name in the “hat”—so the more you visit the blog and comment on posts, the greater your chances of winning.* Your comment/entry today can be a link to an announcement of my contest on your blog or Twitter/Facebook.
For comments to count toward the contest, they must be on the posts dated between September 30, 2011 and October 30, 2011—no going back to older posts and commenting on those! Also—it should be more than just “Great topic. Thanks for posting it.” I want thoughtful comments that prove you’ve actually read what I’ve written.
- *Posting a comment on ten posts earns you one entry in the contest; each additional comment (one per post) earns additional entries. For example: if you comment on eleven posts, you’ll have two entries; comment on fifteen posts, earn six entries.
HOW WILL I KNOW IF I’VE WON?
I will e-mail winners (so be sure your e-mail address is correct when you post your comments—but please DO NOT put your e-mail address in the body of your comment!) on Sunday, October 30, 2011, and will then publish the list of winners here on the blog.
And because it is the month before TFP releases, Fridays in October will be dedicated to the book—inspiration, setting, and, of course, the characters. And you never know—Flannery and Jamie could possibly take over the blog again. So I hope you’ll be back!
QUESTIONS?
If you have questions about either the contest or the book, feel free to post a comment to ask—and yes, that will count as an entry in the contest!

Could possibly take over the blog? Kaye, oh, Kaye. Don’t you know me better than that by now? I’m already plotting my coup!

Oh, and, seriously? Who’s that guy in the image at the top of the post and on the cover of the book? Because it sure isn’t me. 😉

Haven’t you learned anything about book covers yet? Only important people get on them!

Kaye, I’ll try to keep him under control, but you know better than anyone what a losing battle that is!

I notice the blog changed from purple to Green very appropriate. Is this open to non American’s (I dont want to go in the draw for the grand prize as I have the first two books)

Yes, the contest is open internationally.

Love that the blog’s color has changed from purple to green! Oh, and Jamie and Flannery are an absolute riot!

I’ve got to go back and re-read their original posts as well as skim the book for some of my favorite back-and-forth scenes between them just to get back in their heads before they “take over” the blog!

So exited! What a great list of prizes. Man, I hope I win! Are you as happy as I am that Hawaii 5-0 is back on? sigh….. Love him…..
Congrats on the release of the book. I really look forward to reading it!

Loving that H50 is back with new episodes (given that I was still watching the re-runs most Monday nights during the summer). I’ve never been this obsessed with a template after I finished his book as I have been with AO’L. Of course, given that I haven’t really gotten into the new historical yet, that could have something to do with it, too.
I’m also loving all the twists and turns they’ve thrown at us in just the first two episodes of H50 so far!

I’m also loving hearing Steve say my name over and over!

I actually sat down and planned out my posts for the whole month of October last night. Today, I’ve got to figure out which of those days might lend to a takeover!

I absolutely LOVE the green “makeover” you’ve given your blog in honor of the occasion!

I realized last night after pre-posting this that the banner and book cover just didn’t look right with the purple background. Green isn’t one of my favorite colors, but I think it makes the artwork pop!

Your contest sounds like a lot of fun. Green is my favorite color so I love your new decorating. Looking forward to your Friday posts and Turnabout’s Fair Play. This will be a fun fall.

I hope so. I hope to be able to spend some time this weekend gathering the info for some of the posts . . . while also trying to get into the groove of writing 1,000 words every day on Follow the Heart, the first of the new historical series.

I’ve been excited about reading this book for awhile. I have a feeling it will be my favorite out of this series. 🙂 Jamie and Flannery can stop by anytime and give comments on the blog. That’s always fun to read.

I noticed the blog color change but didn’t put two and two together with the book cover. Nice! I think everyone’s been awaiting Flannery’s story since the beginning of the series, although the blurb I read on Amazon makes the story sound more like Jamie’s story than hers. Is it?

I think it’s pretty well balanced between the two . . . but Jamie is definitely the character with the more obvious conflict in the story, so I guess in a way, it could be seen as his story, as he has much more to overcome/deal with than Flannery does.

Status Update: Just saw author Kaye Dacus at the Panera in Brentwood—one of Flannery and my’s favorite places to hang out.

Ugh. You’re such a dork. It’s Flannery’s and my not Flannery and my’s. I’m so embarrassed to be seen in public with you.

Well, then you can just go back to the office and correct everyone else’s grammar if it bugs you so much, Miss I’m an Editor so I’m Better than Everyone Else. 😉

Sigh . . . I love the banter between Jamie and Flannery!! So much fun! Can’t wait until it comes out! As for the “Jamie’s story/Flannery’s story” thing, isn’t it funny how even when you’re thinking of your OWN stories, sometimes it’s one and sometimes it’s another? The incomplete I pitched started out being more the hero’s story, but it was the heroine’s story that caught everyone’s attention!
Wish I could say I was a H5O fan, but alas, it comes on at the same time as CASTLE. 😉 Hey, wish we could hang out together again THIS week!

You can always watch H50 online.

That’s what I do with Castle—I watch it either online or On Demand on Tuesdays so that I can watch Alex . . . I mean Hawaii Five-0 on Monday night.

Cool! Will it also be out in e-book also?
I vote for Jamie and Flannery taking over the blog many, many times. =) I LOVE the green background, but I’m probably biased, since that’s my favorite color.
@ Regina – You could always record it to watch later … 😉

It will be out in e-book format. I’m actually surprised it’s not showing up for pre-order on e-book, but I imagine that by the November 1 release date, they’ll have it available.

Hey, all—do me a big favor if you have time today . . . click over to the TFP page on Amazon and click the “like” button. I’ve heard that it improves a book’s ranking somewhere (on a “most liked” list, maybe???)

I confess… I have not read this series of books, but I will certain pop back to check in and possibly win them, if for nothing other than to watch the muses “run amok”. I truly enjoy when they do that. 🙂

Dawn, even if you go to the library and check them out read them by all means. They are very good. Have you read the Boneterre series? You can’t miss out on those either.

Kaye, I love your books!!! I began with Stand-In Groom and quickly read the rest of that series. I’m currently reading The Art of Romance and loving it! (I’ve also read the first in the Ransome Trilogy.) I think your characters are so real. I’ve been checking out your site since reading that first book, and I’m so excited about this contest! Thanks for your wonderful stories:)

This is a great contest, Kaye! I enjoyed the banter between Flannery and Jamie O. that you posted some time ago; it’s fun to have them back again. I’d love to win and be able to read the series all at once.

I haven’t read the Matchmaker series yet. Just discovered Stand In Groom about two months ago, a loaner from my aunt. I loved it so much I went and bought the entire series, LOVE Major & Meredith! Then I discovered your fun blog. Then got the free download of Ransome’s Honor, fell in love with William and Julia “sigh”, and then bought the other two. LOL! I’ll be hunting down the Matchmaker series next. 🙂
