Ditto, Kaye. I eat. And I’ve reaped some major poundage this last year. I bought an exercise bike so that I could read and exercise at the same time! Reading is another escape for me, so maybe if I do it while burning some calories, I will feel better! 🙂
Unfortunately, for me it’s eating, too. Mostly chocolate, if I can get my hands on some! And then there’s solitaire on the computer. I’ve re-discovered it since the newer versions have come out. Mindlessness, to me, helps me force myself to relax.
I know this is a week late (been busy) but when I am stressed, I dance. I put on some good upbeat music and do whatever comes to my mind. Practice for my Irish dance class, or do what we do in Zumba (which I have come to love). It relaxes me.
Usually, I eat. Sure, it’s only a temporary measure, and I usually feel worse afterward.
Of course, an hour-long, full-body massage works wonders . . . but I don’t get to do that very often!

I wish I could say I take long, vigorous walks but usually I either eat, sleep, waste time on the internet, or take a Xanax (if it’s really bad).

Escape into a book, or go for a run

I only recently started running, but I’ve found it to be an excellent stress-reducer/ mood enhancer.

I slip away into a story – either reading or writing one. But often with a snack in hand.
