Ten 2012 Olympians to Keep Your Eyes On
from mental_floss by Miss Cellania

Thousands of athletes from all over the world are in London for the 2012 Olympics. Many of them are already stars, having trained their entire lives for this chance at gold. For some, getting there has been a struggle against poverty, politics, prejudice, and other disadvantages. Here are a few that you’ll want to know before you see them compete.

Hotlympics: The Hunks of London 2012
by wheeler.tumblr

The 2012 Summer Olympics, sponsored by McDonald’s, kick off in London on Friday. The quadrenniel event brings together some of the greatest athletes in the world, which means lots of very fit men exerting themselves in very tight or very little clothing. It’s a vital ogling occasion for dedicated man-fanciers.

(She lists FIFTY of them! And I don’t think any of them are on the list of Olympic eye-candy of the day that I’ll be posting on my Facebook page over the next two weeks starting Monday.)

The 21 Countries With One Olympic Medal

Twenty-one countries have won just one medal. Here are the stories of the national heroes who brought those medals home.

Okay . . . without further ado . . . the Name-the-Characters Winners are:

J M Gallagher and dingo4mum
Reginald Doncroft (template: Torrance Coombs)

Amber and Ruth and Jolanthe
Sebastian Radclyffe (template: Max Brown)

And most of the rest of the names that I either haven’t used or aren’t already in my database are going in it! Thanks, everyone!

    Hi Kaye! 🙂
    “Reginald Doncroft” I love it!

Here’s hoping those words fly for you and the characters come to life, allowing you to trot along behind, pen to paper capturing what they say and do. 🙂

Everyone came up with such great suggestions, it was hard to pick!

I don’t know how you’d choose! My poor character would end up with about six middle names just accommodate all my favourites. 🙂

pssshhh…. I took the 100 medals or more quiz and missed 6

    • Friday, July 27, 2012 12:27 pm

I got almost all of the ones that were duplicates (simply because of the way the quiz directions were written I figured those would all be in there). I missed a couple of big ones, though.

I am really intrigued about that book cover! It looks like it will be beautiful. 🙂 What month is Follow the Heart to release?

    • Friday, July 27, 2012 12:29 pm

It is going to be gorgeous! I’m so excited to see it once all of the tweaks are finished.

Right now, if we’re still on track, it’s slated for a May 2013 release, with An Honest Heart to follow in October. The third book will release in Spring 2014.

Cannot wait to see more of the book cover. So very excited about this series, Kaye!!! 🙂 Praying the words come and just flow!!

    • Friday, July 27, 2012 12:31 pm

Once we get closer to the release, I have quite a story to tell about the cover design and choosing elements for it!

  8. Friday, July 27, 2012 12:23 pm

Cover: OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m dying to see the rest of this RIGHT NOW!

    And fencing dude: Incredibly hot.

    • Friday, July 27, 2012 12:32 pm

After several “misses” (as in way-far-away misses), when the photographer found this dress, I about fell out it’s perfect. Just wait until you see it!

Since you had so many “misses” on costumes will it be difficult for you to come up with two more for books two and three?

        • Friday, July 27, 2012 5:54 pm

No, it just took some doing to get him to understand my description of the gowns my characters would be wearing in English high society in that era. Once he got it, though, he *really* got it right!

This made my day. So excited to see the book cover and read it, too.
