Fun Friday–A GREAT TV Weekend!
I should be writing this weekend, but as I’m still fighting this infection (today makes day NINE!), I’ll most likely be spending the weekend camped out in front of the TV. But that’s okay . . . because this is going to be a GREAT weekend for TV! (All times listed are US Central.)
Friday
Grimm (8 p.m. NBC)
Even though it’s a re-run, this is one of my favorite new shows, so I’ll be watching!
.
Merlin, Season 4 Premiere (9 p.m. SyFy)
I spent several hours catching up on the Season 3 episodes I missed last spring, so I can’t wait for the season 4 premiere tonight! And this season, they’re adding several key characters from the legends as main (or regularly recurring) characters including Sir Gwaine (Eoin Macken), Sir Lancelot (Santiago Cabrera—though he’s only listed for a couple of season 4 episodes), Sir Percival (Tom Hopper), Sir Elyan (Adetomiwa Edun), and Agravaine (Nathaniel Parker).

Sunday
Once Upon a Time (7 p.m. ABC)
This is my favorite new show of this season. Could have something to do with the fact that I love re-told fairytales . . . could also have something to do with the fact that it’s spearheaded by two of the writers from LOST who have access to the Disney fairytale vault. Warning: If you haven’t watched this show from the beginning, you should do that. This is not a show to try to pick up mid-season!
.
Downton Abbey, Season 2 Premiere (8 p.m. PBS)
We’ve been waiting for this for a year, and now the time has finally come!!! And I read somewhere the other day that it’s been renewed for a third season—it was an article about how Joan Collins (yes, Dynasty’s Joan Collins) has been cast for a guest appearance in the third season. I have assiduously been avoiding reading any blog posts about Season 2—I want to be completely surprised by what happens. Though, I’m sort of hoping that the DVD releases early again this year, as Season 1 did last year, so that I don’t have to wait a week between episodes. 😉

Monday
BCS National Championship Game (ESPN, 8:30 p.m.)
GEAUX TIGERS!!!
Comments are closed.

We are in season 4 of Merlin half way through and its the best yet.
I have heard one of the players for the tigers is an Aussie (the punter is it) seems hes doing really well so go tigers.
Hope by the end of the weekend you will be so much better

I love the new show Once Upon a Time! It’s easier to follow than Lost too. I can actually figure out what’s going on. lol And Downton Abbey is great! It took me a few episodes to get into during season 1 but it got better as it went along. Hope you start feeling better soon!

The Downton Season 2 DVDs release Feb. 7th, and the show ends its run Feb. 19th. So for most of this run you’ll have to suffer with a week’s wait. 😉
I am SO excited about the return of Merlin, even though I do know Lancelot’s fate. *sigh* 😛
Sunday night — Once AND Downton? I am going to be glued to the TV for three straight hours. I’m so glad the broadcast times don’t conflict!

I have 3 shows that I watch faithfully {online, since we can’t get an iota of reception or cable at our house} ~ Once Upon a Time, Castle and Body of Proof. I am finishing up Larkrise to Candleford and anxiously waiting for Downton Abbey to release on DVD…still debating if I want to watch it online or wait for it on DVD so I can get the full effect! 🙂

Chuck and Once Upon a Time are the only shows I watch as they air. Even those run late for me, since they air here at 8pm. Yes, I do go to bed (to read for as long as I can stay awake) before 9pm most nights. All the other shows I watch on my lunch break whenever they show up on line. Downton Abbey, H50, Castle, Terra Nova, Covert Affairs, and before too long I hope White Collar, but they will probably put us on a month delay again like USA usually does. Can’t see Leverage or any other TNT shows now. They locked their sites for anyone who doesn’t have cable, so those all have to wait for DVD releases. I’ve found I don’t really mind. 🙂

I watched “Once Upon a Time” for the first time last week, and loved it. Actually, I like it better than “Grimm,” I believe. It’s more fairy-tale-ish and less “Buffy-ish!” And this from a Buffy-lover. My daughter, a Buffy-Angel officianado (self-proclaimed), says that “Grimm” is like Angel, and “Once” is more like Buffy. Whatever.
I’ve come lately to look forward to “The Menatlist” as much as any show. And of course, CASTLE (which in my mind should always be in all-caps. 😉 )
Next week is marked on my calendar as BONES week. 🙂

DOWNTOWN ABBEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait!!
And you forgot the Cotton Bowl tonight, though since it’s opposite Grimm I guess you’ll be flipping back and forth.
