I want a job and I am at present cold canvasing. If I haven’t found one by the end of Feb (after some of the heat passes) I will find somewhere to do some volunteer work to get the experience. I want to go overseas in 2013 so need to have a job to earn the money.
Ouch. That’s too hard a question to ask me first thing in the morning when I am still in a sleep-induced haze. Hope you are feeling better. That’s a nasty bug you have and it laaaassssstttttsssss! Can you just snuggle up and read a good book?
I usually don’t make New Year’s resolutions, but this year I’ve resolved to get myself more organized. My house is pretty neat and clean, but I live in mortal fear of the contents of my closets, drawers, and attic. You know how when you don’t know where to put something it ends up on a shelf in a closet somewhere? Or if it’s a little bigger, it ends up in the attic? Then if you move, packing up those areas is a nightmare!
Well, my goal for this year is to systematically go through every nook and cranny in my house that tends to collect stuff, and organize it. That includes going through my filing cabinets and consolidating/ eliminating anything possible (there’s still a “wedding” folder in there and I’ve been married for 9 1/2 years!) throwing out anything I don’t need and obtaining any necessary smaller containers to keep all these spaces organized moving forward. I’m actually kind of excited to get this done so that it can stop gnawing at the back of my mind.
By the end of 2012 I want to be a writer. Not a wannabe. I’m not talking about being published (though wouldn’t that be sweet). I want to be someone who sets writing goals and keeps them, someone who is working hard toward publication and professionalism in the world of fiction writing. I don’t want to continue to be someone who just talks about it. To that end, I’ve been working hard toward finishing a novel length manuscript. I’m within 20,000 words of that goal. I plan to enter Genesis this year regardless of how anxious and nauseous that thought makes me. I plan to write and submit six short stories to online magazines by 12/31/12.
By the end of 2012 I want to say that I have completed three manuscripts – three novels. I won’t even think about publication, but if that were to happen, it would be a happy surprise . . . 🙂

I want to sign with an agent. And finish at least one more book.
There’s one other thing that’ll be finalized soon but I’m not sharing it in a public forum.
