If they’re insects then I’d eliminate snakes. But they probably aren’t. So I’d eliminate fire ants (in the South that’s an awfully mean, aggressive ant that can cover a child in a minute it they step on the ant hill).
I have heard of the fire ants and wouldn’t like them thankfully they are not in my area but we have other ants and in this place there are areas in the yard I can hardly walk without being covered in them. this time of year the front gate gets covered little ants and they are aggressive too.
No-see-ums. Another southern thing that attacks without mercy. You can’t see them, hence the nickname. At least with mosquitos, you can see and swat them.
Red Wasps. At least mosquitoes are food for the birds, bats, and frogs. Wasps? I’m sure they pollinate something, but mainly they just HURT when they sting!
Mosquitoes love me. I should have “bug buffet” stamped on my forehead. Once, I had more than 100 bites on the back of my legs [after slathering in bug stuff [twice] and sitting by the wicker candle thingie]. In about 3 hours. I was miserable. They can die.
Mosquitoes love me too – and if I get a bite (or 10 or 50) it itches for days and days. If my husband gets a bite, it itches for 10 minutes and that’s it. No fair. (Though I can’t really complain, since he has to carry an epi-pen for bee stings and swells up like a balloon if he gets bit by an ant.)
I’d say spiders, but those aren’t insects; they’re arachnids….so I mean I suppose they all do their job in nature but probably a mosquito. I’ve had a lot of contact with those so, let’s get rid of them.
Roaches are number one. They aren’t good for anything. Spiders and snakes, however, eat bad bugs and mice. Course there are bad spicers and snakes, one has to tell the difference.
I can only pick one? Drat! I’d say for sure spiders but if I eliminated those, then there would be more of other yucky critters…… so mosquitoes would be next on my list. I hate those little blood suckers!
Spiders, no question!

True, but I get hundreds of mosquito bites every year, and I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve been stung by a wasp in my entire life.

All of the above?

I dont like mozzies either last year cos it was so wet we had more mozzies than normal and they too were annoying infact almost worst than ants.

Roaches, without a doubt. But as a freebie, I’d also wipe out scorpions since they’re not insects anyway.
Thank you for such a thought-provoking post and the opportunity to vent my frustrations. I’m a better person because of it. 🙂

Yes, please. We’re having a bit of a problem with roaches at our house –there are a lot of little baby ones now, which doesn’t bode well … =P

I’d like to eliminate the common house fly. They are so annoying as they buzz around and especially when they fly in my face or land on me.
