Thanks for the update! I don’t have a wedding story to share (I’ve only been to two in my life, as far as I can remember), but I can certainly make a few more comments.

If barely relevant, yet inexplicably entertaining “Re:” comments counted for extra credit, I’d totally be winning.
But congratulations on forming a new habit for me. I probably click the button for your blog a good 10 or 20 times a day…when I’m not packing boxes for hours on end.

Kaye, I must live a boring life, as I’ve been to many, many weddings, but nothing really funny, worth writing about, have I ever been witness to. Bedroom blinds whipping off the role, sending a bridesmaid into tears (mascara runs to prove it), a nervous groom’s chuckle right at the moment the minister mentions “Faithfulness”, are about the only two things I can think of, and believe me, they weren’t funny at the time.
Glad to see you have so many participants. Great fun. But I’m still surprised you’re going ahead with such awesome prizes. You really don’t need too, you know!

I’ve been meaning to write a wedding story — need to get that going, eh?
Are you feeling better with jobs? I’m so sorry.

Oh, good! Now I know where I stand. 7 comments. Does this make 8?
I think I can. I think I can. I think I can…
I missed a lot last week due to a major crisis and VBS (which can sometimes be a major crisis in itself! Just kidding. It was great!)
Thanks for the update, Kaye! Now I need to go back and read what I missed.

My only wedding story isn’t really all that funny… just ironic, so I probably won’t be entering that unless I can think of something I’ve forgotten.
Wait – does it actually have to happen at the wedding or can it be wedding planning too?

Okay, I’m sorry to be a stickler – but I’ve lived with this all my life and I just have to comment 😀
My last name only has one ‘F’ and two ‘N’s 🙂 It’s the German spelling not the American 😀
Sorry I couldn’t resist commenting on that – it’s a running joke now, since the day I learned to spell my name I’ve been correcting people.

As if the Germans do ANYTHING right. 😉

Oh wow! I’d better get to commenting!
And I’m stuck on funny. I’ve never seen any laugh-out-loud funny stuff happen at weddings. How about sad, in a ghetto fabulous kind of way?

Greyfort–I seem to have more funny stories involving wedding planning than an actual ceremony as well. Trying to keep all that stuff straight just inevitably leads to something funny:)

Thanks for the update. Also Kaye I haven’t heard from you about your guest blog posts for August. Did you get my email about that?

Ok, gotta get my wedding story written… I’m working on it.

Knowing where I stand is *totally* cool. I wasn’t sure I commented enough.
Really, I think commenting is a lot like blogging (for me)– you just do it when you can and it adds up with a sense of inevitability.
While we’re self-promo-ing I’ll mention I just did a post on why I, lover of storytelling, don’t hate Disney cartoons (it seems to be a very ‘in’ thing in some arenas to bash them…).
Just thought you might be interested.

You would think at 63 years old I would come up with a funny wedding story.
I have a friend who released butterflys at her wedding. But that’s sweet, not funny. She was a school teacher and she had her students release the butterflys.

Then this comment means I have one entry in the drawing!
I’ve been to quite a few weddings too, but only one of them had a funny event. But I didn’t actually witness it because it happened behind me. I just saw the aftermath, with my sister and the maid of honor sprawled out on the floor laughing so hard they couldn’t even get up.

I am trying to post to meet my entries! I work FT, have three kids and my husband works nights so time is limited….. I have also been working like crazy. Oh, and we are moving in a week! Dreading it and ecstatic at the same time. Just busy, busy, busy. I’m glad I found this blog though. I have enjoyed reading it and posting and will continue to visit.
