Books Read in November–All my reviews can be found on my Goodreads page–Books read in November shelf. http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/17919854?shelf=books-read-in-november. I, also, started a Christmas reading challenge, so most of my books this month are Christmas themed.
1. The Abbot’s Agreement, by Mel Starr. Medieval mystery series, 7th book. I love this series. It is great.
2. Charles Dickens and the Great Theatre of the World, by Simon Callow–audio book, read by the author. I loved listening to him read the book. While in England, I watched his One-Man Show–The Mystery of Charles Dickens and listening to the book was like sitting in the theater, once more.
3. Naomi’s Gift, by Amy Clipston. She was new to me author this month. I really liked her writing style. Audiobook.
4. A Plain and Simple Christmas, by Amy Clipston.–Audiobook–Another great story. I can’t wait to read more by Amy, once Christmas is over.
5. A Plain and Fancy Christmas, by Cynthia Keller. I liked the story and have looked for the audio version of this book at my library, since I read her first book. However, I was disappointed by the lack of Christmas contained in the book.
6. Mrs. Miracle, by Debbie Macomber. The book is better the movie and the movie was great. I had never read it before and thought, why not this year.–Audio book
7. The First Christmas Carol–A Miser, A Manger, A Miracle, by Marianne Jordan. This was a great retelling of my favorite book and will be on my yearly read list from now on. Set in Bethlehem. Can’t wait for next Christmas to re-read it.
8. A Christmas Home, Greg Kincaid. Sequel to A Dog Named Christmas. I loved the continuation of the series. Note: I have not read A Dog Named Christmas, I have only seen the movie, but the sequel was great.–Audiobook
9. Call Me. Mrs. Miracle, by Debbie Macomber.–Audiobook. Another great story that Hallmark did a good adaptation of.
10. Christmas at Harrington’s, by Melody Carlson. A great story of starting over after being falsely convicted and released from prison.
11. The Christmas Shoes, by Donna Vanliere. I love the song and the movie. Now I can say I love the book.–Audiobook.
12. The Christmas Blessing, by Donna Vanliere. Great sequel to The Christmas Shoes.–Audiobook
13. The Christmas Hope, by Donna Vanliere. Another great continuation of the series.–Audiobook.
Currently reading–
Christmas at Pebble Creek, by Vannetta Chapman
Boo Humbug, by Rene Gutteridge. Funny adaptation of A Christmas Carol. However, I sometimes cringe with the butchering that one of the characters does to the original story. However, I love it.–Audiobook.
Next up–
A Christmas Carol–The original, unabridged version.
Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol, by Tom Mula
An Angel’s Story (Cosmic Christmas–original title), by Max Lucado

Wow–you did a lot of reading in November! I kind of hit a rut (it seems to be an every-other-month thing with me!) and didn’t get through as many as I’d hoped.
I’m going to have to look into the Mel Starr series. That sounds interesting.

I just read the first four books of “Morna’s Legacy” series by Bethany Claire. I’m now reading “In Due Time” (book 4.5). What’s next on my reading list: Hmmmm, I’m really not quite sure. I think it might be a gothic novel.

Ooh, gothic. I haven’t read a gothic novel since college! I wrote my main research project in my Enlightment (era) Literature course on Anne Radcliffe’s The Mysteries of Udolpho. But one of my favorite books from childhood is a YA gothic, White Jade by Willo Davis Roberts.

Here’s what I read in November. November Books
I usually only read Christmas stories in December. I’m currently reading Remembering Christmas by Dan Walsh. Up next will be another Christmas book or novella, but I’m not sure which one. I usually have all re-reads, but will include some new ones this year. Dan Walsh’s novel is one that I have never read. It takes place in 1980, but was written much more recent.

One of the books I read (listened to) in October was sort-of Christmasy—The House on Main Street by Shirlee McCoy. It’s set in the few weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and decorations and snow and the Nativity scene in front of the church are mentioned, but otherwise, it’s not really focused on the holiday. So I’ve added a couple of other true CHRISTMAS books to my list. I don’t usually make a concerted effort to read those, but they’ll fulfill a slot or two in my reading challenge list.

I just finished, The Devil Wears Plaid, by Teresa Medeiros. I am currently reading, The Bides of Chance by Kelly Eileen Hake. Next I plan on reading Sweet Sanctuary by Kim Vogel Sawyer, Merry Ex-mas by Sheila Roberts, and Safe in His Arms by Colleen Coble.
