It would have to be the 1981 Michael Jackson concert I went to at Madison Square Garden, a graduation gift from my high school boyfriend. Box seats. The sets, the energy, the dancing and singing…it was all amazing.
I saw Michael Jackson in concert in Houston in …1984? or 1985? I’m not sure, but we were on the ground close to the stage, near the speakers. Oh my goodness…I remember my heart vibrating with the loud beat of the speakers. Had the time of my life! 🙂
Jason, when I was about 12, a local radio station called my house and I answered the phone…they had called a random number to give tickets away to see Rush with Triumph but I thought it was a joke so I laughed it off and hung up…*sigh*
Hmm … one of the only concerts I’ve been to was a Jaci Velasquez concert –she performed with her husband, Nic Gonzales (from the group Salvador) and it was cute to see the rapport with each other onstage (and their duets were pretty good too)!
It would really be a three-way tie…Paul McCartney, U2 and Journey (with Steve Perry!) Also The Rat Pack – Live at the Sands a few years ago…the impersonators were truly amazing!
have only been to a few concerts most were free (Endless praise, Steve Grace, and a couple others) I like the Four Kinsmen but I would have to say the Michael W Smith concert I went to about 4 years ago.
Many years ago I attended a college concert at MSU that featured Andrus, Blackwood, and Co. It was my introduction into contemporary Christian music, and I’ll be forever thankful I attended that night!
I’ve been to over a hundred live concerts, but hands down, the best ever was seeing B.B. King live in his own club on Beal Street in Memphis, TN a few years back. Front row seats and, after arriving we discovered it was also the night that Martin Scorsese’s team was there filming for his Presenting the Blues documentary. We watched the documentary later and was about 6 inches shy of being on film. 🙂 B.B. was outstanding! Nobody can beat him for singing the blues.
The best was years ago when my family and I saw Twila Paris and Fernando Ortega in Lee Summit, Missouri. We went because we liked Twila’s music but also became fans of Fernando, who was new to us at that time.
I was at that concert too. 🙂 I love Fernanco Ortega’s music, his music may be more mellow, but it just reaches out and grabs your heart. You can’t help but get pulled into the emotion and spirit in which he sings.
I’ve never been to a concert, but my cousin sang at her Class Night–obviously live. It was so beautiful I cried. My cousin has such a pretty voice, not beings biased.
The sold out Celine Dion contest in Cleveland. Almost didn’t make it as the tickets were going fast. However, we did get stuck in a traffic jam for 2 hours trying to leave. That was not fun.
Growing up in the 60’s & 70’s I’ve been to a few concerts, but the most fun I think I’ve ever had was when my sons teen group from church went to see Skillet a few years ago. Talk about a blast! Myself and the youth leader were rockin’ out way more than the teens 🙂
I might never admit this to his face, but one of my favorite concerts was one my hubby wanted both of us to go to – Star Wars In Concert. He has been a Star Wars fan all his life, and while I like the story, it’s not that big of a deal to me. However, the concert was spectacular! We had our tickets bumped up, too, which was a nice bonus. And one other nice surprise…the emcee that night was the voice for C3PO (his real name escapes me).

Matt Nathanson! I’ve seen him twice now and he really involves the audience. I really don’t enjoy most bands/performers live but I love him!

Lately… the Kindergarten concert in my town. Of course, the very cute 5yo in the front row helped ;).
Dunno when the last time I went to an actual concert was…
But probably MWS or DC Talk [like that won’t date me…] overall.

The last live concert I went to was taking my daughter to an Osman concert. She was wild about Donnie Osman! Now, that’s dating myself for sure!!
