Book Giveaway: M.L. Tyndall’s The Blue Enchantress
I’m starting something new on the blog . . . giveaways of other authors’ books. It just so happens that I picked up a copy of my good friend MaryLu Tyndall‘s newest release, The Blue Enchantress, at ICRS. But I was already on her influencer list, so I received a second copy of it this week. Since I don’t need two copies of it, I’m going to hold a drawing for the second copy.
About the book:
Trying to forget about a painful past, Hope Westcott plunges into Charles Towne society trying to find love and acceptance. Captain Nathaniel Mason is determined to build his shipping business and doesn t need a romantic entanglement especially with a woman like Hope. When Hope s adventure-seeking puts her freedom and her life in jeopardy, will Nathaniel turn his back or follow God s voice and sacrifice everything to save her?
4-1/2 Star Review! “No one writes a pirate story better than Christy Award finalist Tyndall! This romantic action-packed adventure illustrates the healing, redemptive power of God’s grace while still offering readers the excitement they crave.” (Romantic Times )
About the author:
M. L. (MaryLu) Tyndall dreamt of seafaring adventures during her childhood days in Florida. Her love of history and passion for story drew her to create the popular Legacy of the King’s Pirates series. Writing for more than twenty years, she lives on California’s coast with her husband and six children, where her imagination still surges with the sea.
I’m currently up to about chapter thirteen or fourteen and completely loving it, so I know y’all will, too!
If you’d like to enter to win The Blue Enchantress, please leave a comment on this post before 11:59 p.m. (Central time) on Thursday night, August 6, explaining why you deserve/need/should win this particular book. (It doesn’t really have to be all that well written—after all, I’ll be drawing the winner’s name at random, not judging the answer. I just want to be entertained. Unfortunately, due to the cost of mailing, I can take entrants from the US and Canada only.) I’ll announce the winner in Friday’s post.
So . . . why do you deserve to win MaryLu’s book?

…’I just want to be entertained’…Ok, that just cracks me up.
Why do I need this book? Because I need a mental break after being exhausted both physically and mentally by my four children. Even the younger one got into the action this week by pouring an entire bottle of Goo Gone into the oven when I tried to start a load of laundry {see what doing laundry can lead too?}.
AND I’m tired of planning for the upcoming school year.
Mental break time for Mommy for sure!

But with four children and Goo Gone in the oven, do you really have time to read? 😉

Why do I need this book? Because the other books on my bookshelf are lonely. Actually, they really have plenty of friends to talk to, but they are a selfish, greedy lot, always begging for more “friends.” I try to splurge and buy more books to help satisfy their friend addiction, but it’s never enough. They just keep whinging and complaining for more.
So yes, please help me silence my mouthy books so I can read this one and give them another playmate.
*raises eyebrow* It’s too early in the morning. I’ve probably taken leave of my senses, but that’s okay;-)

My question is, did you really mean to use whinging, one of my favorite Britishisms, or was it a “too early in the morning” typo? Whichever it was, I, too, give you kudos for its use!

Why do I need this book? Well you KNOW me…..
Need to add a few more authors to my reading list!

Yeah? Well, you’ll have another new “book” coming to you in electronic form soon anyway. (At least, I don’t think I’ve sent it to you, have I?)

I would very much love to win this book because I haven’t read anything, yet, written by MaryLu Tyndall.

Even if you don’t win, I highly recommend reading a M.L. Tyndall book as soon as possible (so far, my favorite is the first in this series, The Red Siren . . . but that could be because I haven’t actually finished this book yet).

Krista deserves it for use of the word “whinging.”
But I deserve it because I’m about to go into student teaching. Where I will work full time. Not only for no money. I will be paying for 12 college credits. If anyone deserves light reading fo’ free, it’s me.

Ah, yes, student teaching. One of the rare times in life when you have to pay to work—and to work in an environment where you’ll be underappreciated and overworked. So I can see your point!

I’d like to win because I love watching my husband roll his eyes when I add another romance novel to my To Be Read mountain.
I read a review yesterday and added The Blue Enchantress to my wish list. Like Wanda, I haven’t read anything by MaryLu Tyndall and have heard great things about her work.
BTW, Kaye, I’m 2/3 of the way through Menu for Romance and am loving it. I enjoyed Stand-in Groom, and you’ve done it again. Major and Meredith are great characters.

I however do not need another book. Seriously. Do not need one right now.
(Maybe reverse pyschology will work ;))
Anyway – Does anyone else get a kick out of being called The BLUE Enchantress but the cover is all in YELLOW. It’s a mind game for sure 😀

Yeah, the color scheme for the series is a little off. Check out the cover for the third book. It’s BLUE! http://www.mltyndall.com/NewReleases.html

I really don’t deserve to win this book. I mean really, none of us “deserve” anything but hell. In fact, I have been exceedingly blessed this summer, and want for nothing. Still, I would love to win this book, because I have read the first one, and thought it was *amazing*. Thanks for doing the contest Kaye!

No problem—as I mentioned, no matter how much I love MaryLu and her books, I really don’t need two copies of it. Bonus for my blog readers!

Having almost finished with my first manuscript, a regency adventure, I’d like a copy of this book (and your Ransome’s Honor) for research purposes–not to mention “great reads.” You are the published experts. So I need to see if/how mine matches up. I’m an English teacher turned school counselor, hoping to turn author I also need to start making some friends in the business. Thanks for the opportunity.

I just finished purchasing all my son’s curriculum and planning for the school year and I even have figured out ideas to entertain my 2 1/2 year old daughter while I homeschool him. Now that I am ready I am giving myself a break for a week and a half and I am looking forward to reading some good books during my break. I simply like her work and would love this book to be one of the books I read. Thanks for the chance to win a copy. Nice of you to share. God bless!

I deserve MaryLu’s book because I’m a book addict. I need to feed my habit and I’m too poor to buy every book that I would like to. I’ve read Book 1, The Red Siren but I didn’t get my fix from just that book, I think The Blue Enchantress would put me over the moon! To support my habit I beg (from publishers), borrow (the library) and well… steal. Technically winning books is not stealing but getting something for free is considered a “steal” right? I’d love this book, please enter me! My TBR stack is dwindling!

Ah, but Renee, I fear I’d only be enabling you by letting you win this book. After all, it’s only the second in a trilogy. If you read this one, then you’ll have to read the third one, just to know how everything turns out. Maybe it would be better for you if I didn’t enter your name. 😀

I don’t know that I deserve a book, but I’ll tell you that I am a most excellent Enchantress…at least that’s what my husband tells me. (yikes, did I, a pastor’s wife, just offer that out loud…and my answer not even help my chance of winning in any way? lol) Annndddd, while I have brown eyes, I’ve always wanted blue contacts the color of a hot summer sky. I’d be such a cute enchantress with blue eyes, I think.
Oh yes, arrggggghhhhh!

I completely agree with Keli Gwyn! My husband is exactly the same way! LOL I love getting books in the mail, just to hear him complain. hee hee I also have a “TBR mountain” ~ I don’t think I’m ever going to reach the top (in this case, I guess, the bottom). 🙂
FYI, I just won a copy of Ransome’s Honor over at Favorite PASTimes. YAY! I can’t wait for it to get here. I’ve read Stand in Groom (LOVED IT!) ~ I have Menu for Romance waiting to be read any day now. Your books are awesome! When I first saw Stand in Groom in the CBD catalog, I knew it was going on my shelf. Contemporary romance is my most fave books, even though I occasionally read Historical romance, too. Hey, I have an idea! You should just send me The Blue Enchantress when you send Ransome’s Honor, that way you’ll save on shipping!!! *grin*
I would love to win MaryLu’s newest release! The Red Siren was a wonderful book. I can’t wait to see what happens to Hope & Nathaniel.
Thank you!

Why another book? Well, we moved to a very small town 3 years ago and my 16 year old daughter has exhausted the library book selection in both nearby counties as well as our school district and we both have read and reread out of our own personal library as well as the books in our bookstore until we find ourselves catching each other up to speed on our favorite authors/characters before catching up on our “real” friends & family 🙂 It can be really hard at times to find something we haven’t read old or new…and we love to share…I’d love to read this book, it sounds wonderful…I am already looking for book 1 today…Can’t wait to start…Thanks for giving us the chance to win!!

Let’s see, why do I deserve this book? I think I do because I am being driven CRAZY by my children who (THANKFULLY) go back to school in a few weeks. This would provide a bit of an escape, and perhaps I won’t lose the rest of my mind!! 🙂

I read The Red Siren last year, and The Raven Saint a few weeks ago, shortly before having to lay my reading down so I can concentrate on finishing my novel that an editor is waiting to see – and all within a 6 week time frame! Shiver me timbers! I haven’t read The Blue Enchantress and it would be a delightful treasure to look forward to at the end of my journey of writing my book.
