Iam not sure what i read id Dec. its very much a blurr partly due to the fact most of the month I was in pain due to a wrist injury which the third dr thinks now is muscular and put it in a splint. a partly due to the pain emotions were high with it being the first christmas without mum. know i read some christmas books anded ended the year with

struggle to read as much as I want due to tiredness from heat, lack of sleep due to wrist, cant sleep with the splint but the pain without it isn’t worth trying. (wish i had broken it cos it would almost be healed but due to using it i did more damage so still a while to go).

Jenny, I can’t even begin to comprehend what going through the holiday was like for you, but just know that all of our thoughts are with you as you continue through this year of “firsts” without your mum. And I’m sorry to hear about your wrist! Hoping it gets better soon!

Thanks Kaye, Christmas itself was a great day. What has surprised me is the fact I seem to be missing dad more than ever, Sunday will be 37 years. I have learnt physical pain heightens emotional pain and when the put the splint on it was like I was a new person. I am still getting pain and frustrated its taking so long almost 6 weeks but I am sure I will learn something from it. I miss work even if its only cleaning I miss having something to do and also the money. will try to do some today. Least i got the ironing done fore them.

So excited for this post-I actually kept track of what I read in Dec-plus, it was a record breaking 7 books! Haven’t gotten to read that many since I had my son 3 years ago:)

A Wreath of Snow Liz Curtis Higgs Victorian Scotland, again simplicity
Two tickets to a Christmas Ball Donita Paul Different feel, a bit of fun magic involved
Sketchy Behavior Erynn Mangum not my favorite of hers, YA, but a bit of a downer
Miss Match, Rematch, Matchpoint Erynn Mangum my 3 favorites of hers, rereads, such fun
Reading: Menu for Romance Kaye Dacus, um, embarrassed to say this is my first time reading it, but I’m enjoying it immensely:)
TBR: A Case for Love Kaye D.; Caxley Chronicles Miss Read; and a bunch of re-reads
Plus I’m already two books into my January reads:)

Teehee—Jenn, I love your enthusiasm! Looks like you had some great Christmas-themed reads in there. Now that I’m only one week of grading away from being finished with teaching for several months, I’m hoping that I’ll be able to start charging through some books like you did in December.
And I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying MFR. I have such a soft spot in my heart for Major and Meredith. Especially Major. When he first came on the scene, when I was writing the original draft of Stand-In Groom, he was married to a friend of Anne’s. But even with as minor a role as he had in that book, I started falling for him, and I knew I wanted to write a book with him as the hero. So, of course, I had to do away with the wife! 😉

I had a fun December rereading some of my favorite books. A Christmas Carol, by Dickens, –Must have my Scrooge fix, before I feel it is the Christmas Season. Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol, by Tom Mula–Wonder interpretation from Marley’s perspective. I read 2 Melody Carlson Christmas books –Christmas at Hannigan’s/Harrington’s (can’t remember) and the Christmas Dog.–Both very touching stories about starting over and beginning again.
I am sure that I listened to many audio books during the month, however, I can not remember a single title.
My next reads will be the audio version of Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales. After seeing the cathedral and location of the murder. I think it might be an interesting read. Also, as poetry and I have never really gotten along, it might make more sense orally, than it does when I read it. I have 3 mysteries by Vanetta Chapman, which will be next in line for the audio books. Not sure reading anything, but my text books will be possible, as I am returning to law school after nearly 13 years away. Pray for me. However, I will try to make time, so that I am not completely fried. Not sure what those books will be at the moment.

Good for you, Dora! I’ll definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I went back at age 29 to finish my Bachelor’s degree, then continued on through for the next six years until I’d completed my Master’s. Looking back on it now, I know it was God’s grace alone that allowed me to do everything I needed to do during those years, because I sure wouldn’t have been able to do it on my own! Feel free to vent here any time!

I just finished reading Mary Moore’s Beauty in Disguise and last night finished The Tutor’s Daughter by Julie Klassen.
I also read Josie Riviera. She is a new author to me and just released her first Regency entitled Seeking Patience.
Next book on my reading list is Laurie Alice Eakes latest release, Choices of the Heart and Regina Scott’s The Rake’s Redemtion. I then plan on reading A Suitable Wife by Louise Gouge.

I’ve spent the last two weeks blowing through The Books of the Raksura by Martha Wells. All three of them! Many a night up till midnight or later because I just couldn’t put them down.
Also reading The Harbinger, because my pastor is doing a study on it starting this Wednesday night. It’s pretty eery and a little on the terrifying side, to be honest. I’m looking forward to what all Bob has to say about it.
Next up is Roseanna White’s second Culper Ring book, which isn’t out yet. I’m her fashion consultant, and I know it’s going to be good. After that I really don’t know. Depends on what strikes my fancy, but I have a feeling it’ll be more some SF romance of some kind or another.
