Hey, look at that! It’s 7-11!

    What’s your favorite convenience store?

For me, Walgreens is my convenience store. Mostly because there’s practically one on every corner in Nashville!

I’m not a fan of convenience stores, but my husband is, anything clean and organized and well lit with a great soda fountain…..forget it. I might as well pull out a good book because I lose him for 15 minutes or so, it’s a little comical. Unless we’re in a hurry. 🙂

I was trying to think of the last time I stopped at a convenience store. Then I remembered Travel America’s truck stop at I4 and I75 near Tampa. It’s a regular watering hole for us when traveling that way. 🙂

If you inherited/won $20 million, what would be the first self-indulgent thing you would do?

Hire a personal chef and a personal trainer!

I like your idea. Although I worked out with a trainer one day and I didn’t like him very much when it was all over. 🙂 My first indulgence would be travel, anywhere and everywhere, there are so many places I would love to see!! Oh wait! I’ve always wanted braces, that might come first.

I hear ya on the braces. I’m going to the dentist today to be measured for the final step in implants. But this long dental journey has been worth it.

Any reason for 20 mil? (As opposed to the usual 1 mil)
I like Kaye’s idea. I’d redo the kitchen a little then hire a personal chef. My husband would finally get the home theater set up of his dreams.

Are you the one everyone depends on in an emergency, or are you the one who panics/falls apart?

    • Tuesday, July 10, 2012 10:48 pm

      I’m trained as a first-responder. I can dial a mean 9-1-1.

Let’s put it this way. I didn’t fall apart emotionally when I broke my ankle until two days after it happened, once I was finally at my parents’ home in Arkansas being taken care of by them.

After collasping at home 10 days ago I am discovered I am calm in a crisis. (I was basically on my own lying on the ground for 3 and a half hours before I could get to a phone) I stayed calm tried to get warm as it was so cold and I was losing blood. I didn’t really break down either and still have to remember I had major surgery and 4 blood tranfusions and being so weak is normal.
When mum use to have her falls I didn’t really panic I would ring the 000 (our emergency number) or get help. I would then react after things were ok.

daisy its seems they found a polyp which was the size of a golf ball that was causing me to clot and bleed. they took me to have a D & C and thankfully al Gyn was in the town that day and he removed the polyp. of course by this time i had passed out for a bit and really wasn’t with it at all. (best way to have surgery) it is benign. I was told by several staff that i am lucky to be alive. I guess part of me is still processing how close it was but I know God was with me. I am still weak as a kitten and it really bugs me. i see the dr today. she told me i would be on light duties by now and thats not happening yet. hopefully she tells me this is normal. (everyone else says it is). Each day i get stronger no more headaches, still a little dizzy and very tired. been on the same book for 5 days and its a Li book Im half way through it.

Most of the time I can be depended on. Except for once, when I froze and couldn’t think, because I was so scared. Thank God my sister was there, made the list and kept me going!

I discovered just how calm I am at the office one day. I was using our toaster oven and my toast caught fire (someone else had cooked something greasy). The instructions said to unplug it and leave the door closed, so I did that. But the fire didn’t go out right away (I said calm, not brilliant – although in my defense, I’d seen Backdraft.). I went to my boss’ office and told her what I’d done. She gave me an incredulous look then went to the kitchen, opened the toaster oven, and tossed the burning toast into the sink. At that point, the other women in the office asked, “Is something burning?” They were mad that I’d walked right past them to get my boss. Guess I’m programmed to get the authority figure in an emergency. 😀

I worked as a hostess, salad-bar wench, and behind-the-counter order taker at Golden Corral (back when it used to actually be a steakhouse, not a pig trough) from August 1988 through May 1989—my senior year of high school.

I’d have to choose Oded Fehr (yes, I’m pretending he’s not married) so that I can bask in the glory that is the sexiest man in the world for a few hours. What would we do? I really don’t care. As long as I get to look at him and listen to his voice.

It’s a toss up between Taylor Kitsch and Chris Hemsworth. Sushi dinner while cruising down the Seine (ah, l’amour in Paris), followed by a quick flight on a private jet to the countryside and a limo to the middle of nowhere for stargazing.

If a boy it would be Michael Henry (Henry was mum’s maiden name)

Im a girl so its Jennifer Alice. Alice was mums sister who she was closest to and had passed away a couple years before I was born.

My first name is after the Rachel in the Bible. We all have Biblical first names.

My middle name, LeighAnn (officially, though I spell it with an e, of course) is after three people My mother, my Mamaw Wilder, and Vivien Leigh.

My maternal grandmother and I share middle names (Marie).
More interesting is my dad who was named for the actor Dana Andrews.
I always thought it was cool that my parents’ names started with the same letters as dad and mom (Dana and Martha).

Or any of my characters’ names.

I already do. In fact, I comment here under the pseudonym. What I’m having trouble deciding is what to do about the space opera. Somehow I don’t think marketing historical romance and space opera under the same name is really that good of an idea. But I don’t know what to do!

I have considered it but hadn’t settled on any names. My main character shared my name until a few months ago. If I end up self publishing, I might switch names with her.
