Well, I think our conversation and my longest-ever blog post about the episode is a good indication that I am WILDLY PLEASED that Downton is back on my TV screen. 🙂

I am glad they extended the series. I see foreshadows of “happily ever after.” Eager for next week.

It was the fastest two hours of my life. I almost feel sorry for Thomas right now. But not quite.

I’m so glad it’s back, really enjoyed it, everyone seems to be up to their old tricks. Thomas, ick! O’Brien, ugh! Maggie Smith is a hoot and a half!

I’ve already watched the entire season, so I’ll make no projections, but I’ll say I enjoyed this weeks episode. The Dowager Countess is an absolute treasure.

    Once Upon a Time
So Emma decides to run for Sheriff. And we finally learn Rumpelstiltskin’s backstory. Did his past change how you feel about him? Do you really think he managed to manipulate everything that happened to Emma, or did he just take advantage of how things played out after the fire? And could Mary-Margaret have looked any cuter in that 1920s-cloche style white hat when she ran into Charming David? 🙂

I’m going to try and write about this episode before the end of the week (knock on wood, hope I didn’t just jinx myself). I LOVED finally getting Rumplestiltskin’s backstory — as to whether or not he was the master puppeteer, well…I am note entirely sure. Fascinating possibility though! And I wonder what happened to his son?

I did feel some sympathy with him, and I was glad to see the actor (I should know his name) show some range instead of the over-the-top evil (story world), or restrained menace (Storybrooke). But he’s become the dark one or whatever now, so unless there’s some way to end/escape that apart from dying, and he wants to… no more sympathy from me! It was great to see “Wormtongue” on the show. Good to see David again. I hope we see more of him soon.

The show’s return this week was fantastic! I love how they are developing the Castle/Beckett dynamic this season.

Castle always lifts my spirits, and I always think of you when I watch. FYI, in case you need some meaningless trivia, I received a Castle t-shirt for Christmas. It says “writer” on the front.just like Castle’s police vest. 🙂 I’m trying to slowly ease back into the writing world.

    Grimm
We’ve seen them tackle “Little Red Riding Hood,” “The Three Little Pigs,” “The Pied Piper of Hamelin,” “Rapunzel,” “The Queen Bee,” “Bluebeard,” and “Goldilocks and the Three Bears.” What fairytales would you like to see them makeover in their own, very unique style?

    Bones and The Finder
Bones comes back with a new episode this week (I’ve missed the last few, due to lack of interest). And The Finder, its spinoff, premieres directly after. Thoughts on Bones so far? And who plans to watch The Finder?

I am getting to the point where I don’t know why I watch Bones anymore…it is not “appointment” viewing at all. And it isn’t that I haven’t enjoyed the Booth/Brennan relationship when I’ve made myself watch this season…there are just so many other shows I would RATHER watch, I guess. I’m thinking about scrubbing this one completely from my radar…

    Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
In case you didn’t know (I posted an article on my Facebook page a few weeks ago), this Friday will be the very last episode of this series. Do you still watch? What do you think about the show’s cancellation?

I’ve never watched it, but just before Christmas my boss worked on a house (building it, not designing) for one of the episodes. He said it was insane the number of people working on it and how quickly they were getting it done compared to a normal construction schedule.

My church has a women’s Bible study/ discipleship group called the ANCHOR. It’s organized as a church-wide group, with smaller sub-groups. The small groups meet together in different locations on different days (different rooms at the church for morning groups and leaders’ homes for the evening groups), but are all taught the same lesson, either live (at the church in the morning) or via video (in the evening) by the same teacher and then have discussion, friendship, support and mentoring as small groups. They come together in larger groups once a month. I just joined, and the kick-off for the current study was last night. Most of my small group are first-timers as well and they seem like a great group of ladies. I’m excited to be joining. I’m by far the youngest in the group, but I figure God ordains the placements and has me there for a reason.

I post this here partly because I thought of you last night Kaye, when we were doing introductions. 3 of the 8 women in my group are older (40s – 50s) “always been single” singles, and another (same age group) was single until just 3 years ago. Ever since starting to read your blog and reading your posts both about being single in general and also how singles are treated in the church, I’ve been paying more attention to that kind of thing. I don’t know how much that issue will come up in this group, and I’m not going to bring it up, but I feel like reading all your posts has given me some insight/ awareness and hopefully the ability to be more understanding or less accidentally offensive to these ladies if a situation arises in which I could be either one.
