TURNABOUT’S FAIR PLAY Is Finished and Turned In!!!!

Monday, May 16, 2011

Jamie, here, dropping by really quickly to say that Kaye finished writing Turnabout’s Fair Play around 1 a.m. and e-mailed it to her publisher a little before 2:00. Yes, there should have been a Writer’s Window post today, but, unfortunately, Flannery and I kept Kaye so tied up writing our story, she didn’t even have time to check her calendar or remind the writer who was supposed to be featured to send in the materials. So, you’ll just have to put up with me for one more day. But Flannery and I have agreed . . . no public arguing today.

And Kaye is celebrating in her favorite way—she’s sleeping. I’m sure she’ll want to hear from you, but don’t be surprised if she doesn’t answer right away.

Oh, I do hope she gave you a happily ever after! You sound much more mellow today, so I’m guessing she did. 🙂

You’re right, Kav, Jamie DOES sound quite mellow today! 😀 OK, now I’m looking forward to this book even MORE!!

It was quite interesting dealing with two somewhat high-strung characters in this book. They gave me a run for my money!

I can’t not give my characters a HEA ending. Of course they got one! 😀

No public arguing? Then I guess we know you’re a couple now, caught up in discovering new love. 🙂

    Congrats on finishing, Kaye!

I wouldn’t count on that, Michelle. Even though they may not be arguing in public, that may not mean they aren’t spatting about something privately right this very moment! 😉

Yay! I’m so excited to read your story. 🙂

In a few months I may be excited about having people read it, but right now I’m in that post-submission “I hate it, it’s the worst thing I’ve ever written” stage. I’m sure I’ll come back around to loving it again—especially once it gets close to release date and I’m doing all the behind-the-scenes posts about it.

YAY! Hope everyone has a good rest! Looking forward to reading your story!

Thanks, Kate! With the help of some Tylenol PM, I got a solid nine hours of sleep. I’ve been up and about for a few hours now . . . even watched last night’s episode of South Riding already this afternoon. But I’m indulging in staying in my PJs until I absolutely must go outside to get the mail in another hour or so.

    This picture is just adorable.

    Congrats on finishing TFP!

I spent hours online looking for non-Steve McGarrett images of him, and some of the candid photos I found, like this one, turned out to be some of the best inspiration for writing Jamie.

I find it fascinating that you finish writing a book and then just send it to the editor…with no one to look at it, critique it, etc. I guess that is the beauty of being a fabulous writer who doesn’t need it anymore???? Amazing. Simply, amazing. Congratulations, and I hope you catch up on some much needed rest!

No, sweetie, it’s called only having two and a half months in which to get it written!

Thanks for continuing to be an example to all of us in MTCW by living it out and not just talking about it.

    WTG, Kaye!!
