Wednesday night is our primary service for Bible study. We have a topical teaching on Sundays, but for the past 30+ years we’ve gone through the bible chapter by chapter, verse by verse (several times) on Wed evenings. We moved to Oregon nearly 20 years ago because of this systematic teaching of the Word at this church.
Yes, we go to church on Wednesday nights. It’s pretty much like Sundays, except no Sunday school, “special” song, and a shorter sermon. Sometimes we will have a missionary speaker on Wednesday nights who will give a presentation.
Used to be. Our current church puts a lot less emphasis on Wednesday nights though. There is a prayer meeting, but it isn’t really promoted. During the school year I participate in Anchor, which is a women’s small group/ Bible study that meets once a week at the leader’s home and once a month at church on Tuesday evenings.
My church does not have a midweek service during the summer. During the fall and spring, we’ll usually have one or more classes. I go, if the topic interests me. On the second Tuesday of every other month, we have an all worship service. The next one will be in September.
Swimming, track and field and volleyball. I was huge into volleyball as a kid playing 4-5 times a week. I even went to Germany to play and played against a couple guys on the National team back in the mid-80′s.
Gymnastics, diving, and swimming are my favorite. My sister, on the other hand, is going all out and setting up all of her “toys” for streaming every sport.
I remember the first time I ever watched them it was 1972 in Munich and I was 8. Shane Gould was the darling of the swimming pool for Australia. I dont remember alot more but I did love seeing her. We had a book with all the events and were putting in who won etc.
thats a really hard question as there are so many. the ones that come to mind first are Susie O’Neill, Cathy Freeman, Debbie Flintoff King, Anna Meares, Kerien Perkins,
If you were to create an Olympic event in which you were certain to win a gold medal, what event would it be? (Yes, you can be totally facetious with this.)
Ok, after reading “badminton,” which I didn’t even know was an Olympic event, I had to go look up the official list… seriously? Badminton? Table Tennis? Even canoeing seems a little strange to me.
Basketball, Tennis as both are professional sports which the players get well paid.
I actually like Canoeing. I forgot about handball find that fascinating to watch.
I see golf will be added next olympics thats another I am not in favour of.
Are you a mid-week church goer? What activities does your church do on Wednesday nights?

Our church doesn’t have traditional mid week services but they emphatically encourage joining a small group that meet at any time during the week.

If you were to create an Olympic event in which you were certain to win a gold medal, what event would it be? (Yes, you can be totally facetious with this.)
Insecurity. I’m so insecure I could almost go pro, but I haven’t had enough belief in my abilities to make that jump just yet.
I would be competing right there with you.
I would win a gold medal for procrastination. Problem is I would probably procrastinate so long I would forget to go to the event.
What sport do you think they should take out of the Summer Olympics?
Badminton. This is something people play in their backyard during picnics. What’s next, cornhole?
hahaha, Olympic cornhole

I still dont get synchronized swimming either one event I really dont watch.
I find synchronized swimming fascinating, I wish they would show it on TV.
What sport do you think they should add to the Summer Olympics?
They need to bring back baseball and softball. That was just a dumb sport to get rid of, yet they keep badminton and ping pong? Really?
I agree!
I would love to see Netball added.
The new TV season is almost upon us. What new shows are you looking forward to? What returning shows are you eagerly anticipating?
Duck Dynasty.
I am sooo excited for Once Upon a Time to return. I can’t wait to see the new characters back stories and i really hope they bring back The sheriff.
Once Upon a Time and Grimm!
Once Upon a Time! Cannot wait!
