It’s Open Mic Wednesday. What’s on your mind?
Welcome to Open Mic Wednesday. As always, jump in on one of the ice breakers, or start your own topic thread.
What are some old, long gone TV shows you wish they’d bring back in reruns on TV or streaming online?
Flipper, the one shot in Australia with Jessica Alba, Doc Hollywood (I think it was it was set in a hospital I think but it was fun to watch), The Onedin Line, use to watch it on a Friday night it was set in england with Jane Seymore. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074035/,
Sliders cos I never saw it the first time but was able to see a few episodes on dvd. Beauty and the beast.
It’s not old, but one that I wish was on DVD (officially, not bootleg) is the English dub of the first four seasons of “Digimon” from the early 2000s It had a better storyline than Pokemon!
I wish that “Sue Thomas FBEye” was still on, but at least all the seasons are on DVD. “Doc”, another PAX family friendly show I wish was still on air … maybe someday the rest of the seasons will be released on DVD? To my knowledge, only season 1 is on DVD.
Uhm, I wish Stargate SG1, SGA, or even SGU was still on air … But they’re not very old either ….
I haven’t seen
“Bewitched” on TV Land recently … I loved watching reruns in middle school … Elizabeth Montgomery, what a stylish woman.
LDK, We have Bewitched on at present. I love the Stargate series too have them all on dvd. Still have most of the last SGU to watch.
Aw, lucky. Too bad I don’t like in Australia … Come to think of it, I believe Bewitched is on DVD …
I am with you on Sue Thomas and Doc. I also miss Rin Tin Tin K9 Cop, which ran on the Family Channel, before ABC took it over. I also liked Paradise with Lee Horsley.
I’m intrigued by the Jane Seymour show you mentioned, Ms. Jenny! And a Flipper remake? I need to YouTube trailers.
It was a set around shipping and a ship line. Set in England when she was way younger I think she may have joined after the movie she stared in The Scarlet Pimpernel,
It The new Adventures of Fipper, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flipper_(1995_TV_series) it was fun.
I found a clip on YouTube, I don’t think I saw anything with her in it that young! The only thing that comes close is … There was a movie with Christopher Reeve I remember watching … It was called “Somewhere in Time” or something similar … She played the girl from the 1900s that modern day Christopher Reeve’s charrie fell in love with.
Green Acres. Something about Eddie Albert’s deadpan delivery and never being able to finish a sentence always got me to laugh hysterically.
keith We have Green Acres here on one of the digital channels.
What’s your favorite card game?
Not sure as a kid loved a game like rummy but cant get the right name or find the right game online. Now it would be UNO.
Rook, used to play all the time on academic team trips in high school.
Solitaire. I don’t like people, Okay, just kidding. My family enjoys playing Skip Bo or Uno.
Euchre. However, I don’t play as often as I would like. Uno and Phase 10 would be close seconds
What’s your favorite board game?
This is a really hard question. I like Monopoly and scrabble but I think I like the aussie game Squarter.
Have you ever slept in a tent in the backyard?

How many broken bones have you had? Which ones, and how did you do it?
As far as I know I haven’t broken a bone. come close with a finger or two through field hockey. One got caught between my stick and another stick. I also had the car door slam on my thumb before but no break.
1. Broken jawbone—car wreck when I was 6. I wasn’t wearing a seatbelt (it was 1983), and my grandmother pushed me into the floor of the car to protect me.
2. Hairline fracture on the outside of my left ankle—fell getting off the bus at school.
3-5: Car wreck in 1997.
Broken left wrist.
Broken right ankle (medial malleolus)
Broken left ankle (medial malleolus)
6. Re-fracture of the left medial malleolus in 2005, twisted my ankle while stepping off a curb in front of my apartment.
Linear fracture of my femur (also caused 3 bone chip and a torn ligament) while playing football. Really hurt.
Do you make your bed every day?
Um does before I go to bed count (or in winter before I put the electric blanket on.) I do often pull it up but not make it properly.
yes. That is a must. First thing we do when we get up.
I make my half with my husband still in it and then he makes his half when he gets up. Lol.
