(predicted in 1900)

I saw this online and had to share. Click the image to view it full size, though it’s rather blurry—it’s definitely worth the effort!

That’s terrific – and almost a primer for anyone who wants to write steampunk novels. I love the fact that our imagination is the fastest way to see into the future…and get a lot of things right!

That’s pretty cool! I’m surprised at how much of it is actually accurate.

But I STILL want to know why we don’t have flying cars yet! What’s up with that, Spielberg and Lucas???

Wow! “All the places you’ll go.” Most of this sounds terrific but I won’t probably be here. It’s strange they didn’t address age longevity. I agree with Ramona that we can find many novel plot ideas in this article. Thanks, Kaye

I think what I find most fascinating is his confidence that the only wars we’ll be hearing about are in China or “the Orient” as those are mentioned several times!

Oh, and flies, mosquitoes, rats, and mice will be extinct? How I wish that were true!

Fascinating. He imagined wireless (cellular) telephone that far back? Wish we did ingest fewer drugs and that mosquitoes were extinct.

Rachel, but there are flying cars. Just not mass produced, as yet. But several companies are working on them (not the major car manufacturers, but entrepreneurial ventures) and even selling them.

I enjoyed reading these to my 13-year-old and 11-year-old. They laughed with me. The writer did get a few right! I kinda like the idea of a pneumatic tube bringing me things… like some of those apple-sized strawberries!

That was fun to read! It’s interesting to see how some of those are correct and others, not so much :)
