** Chuck SPOILERS**
The stormtrooper helmet moment in Monday night’s episode of Chuck was one of the absolute greatest comedy moments in the entire series. I think I might have pulled a muscle in my side, I laughed so hard.
And it was SO good that they finally got back to a real action/spy storyline, instead of all of the “let’s figure out our relationship” stuff they’ve been doing since the season started. (Doesn’t hurt that I love Adam Baldwin and he got to do some of his best eye-acting and physical comedy ever in this episode.)
And the A-Team bad guys joking that the guy with the saw, about to saw off Casey’s arm, looked like Dr. Frankenstein, then Casey gets up off the table and lumbers off like a bad parody of Frankenstein’s monster.
I finally got to see Chuck last night, and I agree that Adam Baldwin’s facial expressions are spot on. The emotional growth in the Casey character is positive, but I’m glad they aren’t taking away his man’s man growl; that would be a big mistake! And Morgan? What a perfect sidekick. The guy has the funny klutziness of a Jerry Lewis, but he is loyal and rises above when necessary.
CASTLE SPOILER – Loved Castle this week, as usual – especially when Beckett said SHE would break him out of jail. I actually shivered. Of course that was after feeling nauseous when he kissed Gina. Why would someone with such a lovely name be such a hindrance to our happiness?
I have to say that I am enjoying Castle more this season in some ways. He’s growing on me, I guess. Love his comedic side BUT I absolutely hate the love angle where they are both in relationships while being attracted to each other. I mean we know Castle is sleeping with his ex-wife so as far as I’m concerned wanting Castle and Becket to get together is like wanting him to commit adultery….kind of. Sigh. And she has a relationship going on with someone else. Am I just a fuddy duddy?
I’m not thrilled with the Castle-Gina relationship either. I actually kind of preferred it when he was playing more the cad—flirting with everything that might wear a skirt—though mind you, I only want him PLAYING the cad, not actually following through on that. Him in a serious relationship with anyone other than Beckett isn’t good in the longterm for the show, IMO.
But I think they went a long way toward alleviating that worry with the “I’d get you out of jail, Castle,” comment at the end of the episode from Beckett. It made him realize that Gina isn’t “jailbreak worthy,” but Beckett is—and that Gina would probably leave him in jail, especially if he’s on deadline.
Castle, yes! This show keeps getting better and it always makes me giggly to be a writer.
Hawaii 5-0… liking it, but mostly just to watch Alex and Scott. Love the buddy thing they have going, just like I like it on White Collar (which is a show I prefer, all in all). I’m considering casting Alex as my next 18C hero.
Love Monday nights! House and then Castle. I loved Castle last week with the steampunk stuff, I had the mystery figured out, knew it was a duel, etc. For a history buff it was a no brainer. This weeks episode was great, always is, and I loved the ending!
That’s about the only TV I watch in the evening other than FOX news. The rest I watch are usually reruns that I’ve taped or maybe specially movies that are on like Masterpiece Classic.
It surprises me every time someone says that Steampunk “came into prominence*” in the 1980s. If that’s the case, why haven’t any of us heard that term before the last year or two?
Haven’t watched Castle yet since it got pre-empted by the Titans game. I loved last week’s steampunk episode though! And I’m two or three episodes behind on Hawaii Five-O. *sigh* I’m sure I’ll catch up someday.
Speaking of Chuck, excited to see that that a back ELEVEN, not just a back nine, episodes were ordered…yay!!! Also happy that Undercovers is being given more eps, though not a full-season pick-up (yet). I’ve heard the show is really struggling in the ratings but it’s been quite good so far. I’m pulling for it. http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/10/19/nbc-picks-up-chase-orders-more-undercovers/
Alex O’Loughlin was particularly juicy on this week’s episode. But I think it’s because he’s growing on me, not necessarily anything particular that happened in the episode. They’re bringing in an interesting twist with his sister, so, by all means, catch up if you can!
Also, hadn’t guessed and was surprised when I saw it on his IMDb profile when I looked him up to add him to my casting book, that Alex O’L is Australian. As soon as I finish this book, will scour the internet for clips of him speaking with his native accent!
Oh, I’m definitely going to catch up on Hawaii Five-O – I enjoyed the first three episodes too much to let that one slide!
Hey…isn’t one of the heroes in your historical proposal Australian? Maybe Alex could be a relative! I think when Lori and I first “discovered” Alex in Moonlight, she scoured up a bunch of info on his background, including where he was from (which was surprising to me). Be warned she also discovered he appeared in some incredibly awful, retina-scarring film projects…

And wasn’t Morgan priceless?
“You break her heart, I break your everything.”
This week’s episode was a great showcase for Casey and Morgan. So many funny moments!
Storm trooper helmet, WONDERFUL! Loved the funeral tribute to “Charade,” too. The pin in the hand is always priceless!!
Oh, the Charade tribute had me in stitches!
And the A-Team bad guys joking that the guy with the saw, about to saw off Casey’s arm, looked like Dr. Frankenstein, then Casey gets up off the table and lumbers off like a bad parody of Frankenstein’s monster.
Loved when Casey said, “we WERE the A-Team.”

Great call on likening Morgan to Jerry Lewis! There is a definite resemblance at times!
Best ep so far this season, perfectly Chuck balance. And they’ve ordered a back 11 eps!
I know!!! 24 whole episodes of Chuck this season!!! Best TV news ever! (Well, this week at any rate!)
So . . . who watched Castle this week? Hawaii Five-0? Amazing Race?

Hmmm….maybe Gina will become a “case” at some point…just a thought…

Agree with you on WC, no surprise there I’m sure!

Hey, I was just excited, last week, that I had heard the TERM, “steampunk!” LOL

Hello . . . Karl-Urban-nut here who has watched Pathfinder and OWNS Doom. Can’t get much more retina-scarring than those!
Yes, yes it can. Just trust me on this.
