Open Mic Wednesday 5/19/10

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

It’s Open Mic Wednesday. What’s on your mind?

(Don’t forget—up to three comments today will count toward the RANSOME’S CROSSING PRE-RELEASE CONTEST!)

Oh, and I’m two episodes behind on Castle, so if it seems like I was ignoring your comments about it last week, I was. That’s the first show I’m getting caught up on tonight!

I know I’ve asked about this before, but is the tea book you wrote for the Dollar Tree stores available there yet? I’ve been wanting to purchase it, but haven’t seen it.

I’ve been looking for it, too, but haven’t seen it at any of the stores I’ve visited. I’ve asked my friend who works at the company that published it, and she wasn’t certain about the release either. So I just keep looking.

Thank you! I’ll just keep my eye out. One of my sisters said that she saw a whole bunch of gift tea books there, but I don’t think she’s seen the cover of yours yet to know which one to look for.

I am ready for Love Remains to come out too. It looks really good.

I’ve got my fingers crossed to see a great big box of my copies of it sitting on my front porch when I get home this evening!

I’ve been excited about reading Love Remains too. I have to be honest, though. The one I’m really looking forward to is Jen’s story! Please! Why don’t we just add Rafe, Jason, etc., etc. :)

Did you get caught up on Castle last night? I am so glad there will be a season 3, it’s finally starting to get popular. I jumped on Amazon and ordered your Ransomes Crossing and Honor, can’t wait to get them! Hope things are getting better in your state. much love.

No, it’s tonight after I get back home from Arkansas (and lunch with the fabulous new author Annalisa Daughety on my way through Memphis) that I’ll get caught up on it. I hope. Depends on how exhausted I am and if my DVR overloaded while I was gone.

I just finished reading Love is Monumental and loved it. I lived in DC for two years so it is always fun to go back to that setting (like I do during Bones – is she really going to leave?).

I was very choked up at the end of Castle; great summer cliff hanger.

Did anyone watch House? I really hope he didn’t take the drugs or is still under the building or something. Poor 13 – I hope we get to find out what is going on with her.

Good old Lost. I want Kate and Jack to stay on the island together to protect it and yet I want Juliette to be the ex in sideways world. How are Aaron and Walt going to come into play? Loved sing a non-crazy Danielle.

I am also looking forward to the Grey’s final though I won’t be home to watch it and I don’t have DVR so I will have to wait til Friday to watch on Hulu. The first ten minutes of the show are on-line and I was already yelling at the computer.

My younger sister bought Love Is Monumental, but I haven’t read it yet. I loved the first book!

My family is considering going to Washington, D.C. in June. I’ve been several times when I was in elementary school, but that was seventeen plus years ago. Since I haven’t seen everything there is to see yet it’s definitely time to go again.

I loved living in the city; I had problems with the apartment, but the city was great unless you were driving. I loved the ability to hop on the metro and be on the Mall within 15 minutes. There are so many great free museums to go see. One of my highlights there had to be going to the National Cathedral and hearing Handel’s Messiah played with period instruments. The Cherry Blossom festival was also a highlight each year that I was there. The city is so much better to live in when it is not peak tourist season, but everyone needs to go there to experience the great city.

If you have a car it is also cool to go see some of the battlefields like Gettysburg. I loved going to Mt Vernon and Monticello. I kinda felt like Elizabeth Bennet visiting the great houses. There is so much history to explore there.

House finale was great. I love to see that man’s complicated layers stripped away and get a glimpse of his true heart. I go back and forth on that show. Some eps I like, some I really don’t. Is this the end of House or will there be another season?

Boy, oh boy. Only the series finale left for LOST. I’m not obsessing over it like last season, but I’ll be sort of sad to see it end. A bit nervous too. I SO don’t want to be disappointed with a downer ending, or a cop out, or something that leaves me saying, “HUH?”

I haven’t seen Castle yet… everyone’s comments, while not spoilerish, have me very concerned! I’ve been trying to wait for my husband to watch it with me, but doesn’t look like he’ll have a free night until Sunday, and that’s reserved for LOST, baby! Guess I’ll watch it on Hulu at lunch today.

Kaye, I can’t wait for you to get caught up on CASTLE. I have some definite theories about the ending, but won’t go there until you’re caught up!!

LOST, on the other hand . . . wow. Last night’s epi REALLY made me look forward to Sunday’s finale. I’m loving the way the sideways flashes are coming together, and can’t wait to see what Desmond has up his sleeve with that little black dress he had for Kate. I was a little surprised that Jack just accepted the challenge, but LOVED Sawyer’s comment. :D

I’m glad you’re having lunch with Annalisa! Love her writing, and the premise behind her current series. Have fun, and safe travels!

I finished up watching Castle last night. I hate end of the season.

Now I have to wait til next fall {sigh}. I suppose I’ll live. I still need to catch up on few episodes from season 1, so that just might tide me over.

It’s amazing the number of writers at this conference who love Castle.

    • Thursday, May 20, 2010 8:14 am

What’s not to like? He’s a writer, the show is full of inside jokes and cameos by real writers, and he IS ruggedly handsome, after all . . . LOL

I have only seen a couple of episodes of Castle. I need to get caught up on a lot of shows. I still need to see the finale of LOST online. Have you seen it?
