I will DEFINITELY look those up. I absolutely LOVE “Shop Around the Corner,” and am one of those people who, upon discovering “You’ve Got Mail” in progress, will stop and watch the rest of it . . .

One of my favorites is “Believe” by Josh Groban. It’s from the soundtrack of the movie, “The Polar Express”.
I just feel that sometimes I can relate to the song. Growing up, I loved Christmas but as I got older, it really did seem the magic of it started to slip away during the season, I wasn’t as excited for it as i used to be, until Christmas morning came, when I really believed in the Christmas magic.

I also really like “As Long As There’s Christmas” from Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas. It just says that the best gift we can possibly recieve is the gift of Hope.

As I’ve already mentioned, I much prefer hearing Christmas songs sung by the vocalists from the Golden Age of music (and musicals). After all, the Dean Martin Christmas album is my favorite—right next to the Christmas with the Rat Pack!

It’s a cute movie . . . you should give it a shot. It has a lot of great music in it other than this song as well: “The Boy Next Door,” “Under the Bamboo Tree,” and “The Trolley Song.” And, of course, it has a little romance in it as well.

Another good Judy Garland Christmas movie, though you wouldn't know it from the title, is In the Good Old Summertime, which was a remake of The Shop Around the Corner.

Oh, and the CD (well the MP3 download of it, anyway) I've been listening to most in the past couple of weeks hasn't been Christmas music at all. It's been the music soundtrack to the new Star Trek movie. Sometimes by itself and sometimes as part of my Michael Giacchino playlist, which includes his music from LOST as well. Then there's all of the music I downloaded to have playing while I was finishing Ransome's Crossing, from Pirates of the Caribbean, Captain Blood, Master & Commander, The Sea Hawk, Pirates of Penzance (only instrumentals), Mutiny on the Bounty, Captains Courageous, and Cutthroat Island. I need to figure out what music is going to inspire me and spur my imagination for Love Remains . . . though, so far, Michael Giacchino's soundtracks seem to be working for me.
