No, Bonneterre is fictional. But since I’m originally from Baton Rouge and started developing the setting about fifteen years ago when I was living there, there are a lot of similarities. But I also pulled some of my favorite features from some of the other places I’ve lived—like the town square (from Mesilla, New Mexico), the Riverwalk (from Nashville), and so on.

Also…one more thing…is Bonneterre a real place? I have family in southern Louisiana, and when I first started reading, I thought it might be losely based on Baton Rouge.

Kaye, I’ve read a lot of Christian fiction, and after reading SIG, you quickly moved to the top of my favorites list. I really liked the flow of this book and the inclusion of numerous interesting characters. I also enjoyed the fact that your heroine didn’t hold a grudge and quickly forgave. So many books are filled with unresolved conflict and don’t allow their characters to show the depth of their love until the very last page of the book. I enjoyed reading about Anne & George’s interaction and affection with each other throughout the book. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.

I finished SIG a few minutes ago and had to google you! I work at a Christian bookstore and picked your book up to start reading on my lunch hour. I ended up buying it and bringing it home to finish! I couldn’t wait. I will be taking customers straight to SIG. Thanks for the great read. I’m now waiting for July!
