I am teaching an Art Through Architecture class of 10-12 year olds. They will be making castles and I thought the last 2 weeks could be spent watching a movie set in that time period.. The only thing is, I need your help with what would be appropriate for that age and will show plenty of architecture! Ideas? Thanks!

King Arthur!!!! Ioan did an AMAZING job as Lancelot - best ever!! A little weird, after only seeing him in 102 Dalmations, the Fantastic Four movies, etc. But he did really well. He's actually my computer background at the moment... he's one of my NaNo characters ^_^
And Ever After!
A Knight's Tale!
LadyHawke! Some of my favorite movies EVER. =)

I love Ladyhawke as a film, but I think I prefer the novelisation, because that way the soundtrack is removed, but you're still left with the great story and characters. And dialogue, lol.

And I never thought I'd come across anyone else who liked A Knight's Tale! Rufus Sewell makes a really good bad guy.

I have saved a copy of "Ever After" to watch with my niece when she's 8 or 9 or 10, depending. I think it's an excellent retelling of the fairytale and gets enough realism and feminism across without beating us to death with either.

And I think Branagh's "Henry V" should be required viewing for anybody who's about to vote on, speak on, or volunteer for war. It's the best anti-war movie I've ever seen, frankly, which is rather amusing considering that Olivier's version was precisely the opposite and was intended to shore up viewers for going once more into the breach.

Plus, you can't beat the "de bilbows?" scene. Bwaha.

Excellent list, ma'am. Thank you!
