Introverts of the world, UNITE! Though I have a suspicion that could be most of the people at ACFW!

Last year I set up a table for Writer…Interrupted and it was neat getting to meet the few members. I probably need to do that again this year.

Another great way to seal the meeting new people deal, is to just make a plan, say “let’s meet for breakfast on Friday morning or in the lobby some night. I’m game. Wanna play?

We can totally be The Cool Kids, Erica! I’m getting so excited about finally meeting ya’ll face to face and finding out what your voices sound like.

I have had some experience being in a group of people I don’t know all that well. The ND Sleuths. My first Sleuth con I didn’t know a soul. But I slid right into a little group that’s now made up of me, Kevin, Todd, Dean, Kelly, Meredith and Sharon. This last time I ended up rooming with a Sleuth I hadn’t met yet, and much to my great surprise, she’d already slid into my little group at the con I missed. We had a blast!

Hey, you can sit with me too! See, now you don’t have to worry about finding people to sit with. Really, though, thanks for writing that. I feel better about awkwardly trying to find somewhere to sit if I know that other people are going to do that too. I don’t really know anyone going to this conference.

One has to ask if we can all be introverts together and if as a herd fleeing toward the elevators we will perhaps bond in a unique way?

I vote we all be “the cool kids” together, and one of the coolest things will be inviting everyone we see to be a “cool kid” with us.
